A play called education.

Once when I was a little girl, I remember that my dream was to be an actress, I thought that dream will never come true but now that I had the opportunity to know this kind and intelligent teacher, I could say that my dream will certainly come true, in addition my dream of helping people and feel that I could change a little bit the world, would be my purpose in life.
The teacher that I'm mentioning is a curly, thin and beautiful woman called Maria Lopera Rendón, but you can call her "Marita".
Marita studied degree in arts education, technique in theater, and she is an specialist in literature and a master in education. As you can see, she studied a lot and now she is working in the faculty of education of the UPB.
Her education its very important, but it is importan to also know what she likes , because that's one of the things that makes her a very unique person; when I asked her to tell me her hobbies she answered me: "My free time is dedicated on composing music, writing literature and being a happy person..."
Paraphrasing her words, but the important thing is that she wants to convey that happiness to her students and she really does it.
Her first class teaching was "meaning systems" and it was about the understanding of the art codes in favor of the process of learning the mother tongue with a psyco-genetic point of view.
Her first class when she was in the UPB high school, the institution told her not to dye her hair and that she had to dress up in a certain way; She wasn't agree with that terms so she asked for a course at the University and they gave her the course of "meaning systems"; she played music at the class and she prepared her class a lot. At that time she was in her practices as a teacher and she was really worried about having a theoric knowledge and a pedagogy foundation.

"I wasn't expecting to be a teacher, I wanted to be an actress, and I even quit architecture to study theater and I was doing good as an actress, but once my theather group was over, I started teaching and I realized that the classroom was also a escenary and people were having a strong connection with me as in theater and I discovered that I could sow one seed per person and change their lives, it sounds very romantic but that's what seduced me about being a teacher..."

Hello dear mates,
Let me ask you a few questions:
1. Why do you chose your career?
2.How do you see the class room? just as a place to teach or do you have a different point of view?
3.What do you think that is necessary for being a good teacher?

  1. It is awesome this interview and Marita she is the best. She does care for the things she does. She puts magic to all the things she does.

    1. Because of something that was going out of me, from my entrails.
    2. I see in the classroom the perfect place where everything becomes real, changeable, where you can see the people who will be the heroes/ heroines of our world.
    3. Many things, the charism, the love for knowledge, the love to share it to the others because when you are teaching something you dislike, you tend to don't give a damn but when you see someone really interested in something you seem to care and do your best.

    According with the questions...

    1) We love English, languages in general and we like to teach and this career is about that, sharig your knowledge and giving the opportunity to people of create his or her own perception of life.

2 The classroom is a place of interaction in which students feel comfortable and happy.

3 " I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist and that there are as few as there are any other great artists. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit."

  4. My beloved Tati.
    Hope you are fine.

    Well:
    1. In this specific moment of my life, l'm afraid l cannot respond this one yet.

    2. I consider the classroom as a Stage because it must to be like that. It means, by the way we are teaching, these scenarios are very important and feeling them as a stage is more interesting than just to feel them as an ordinary place to stand up.

    3. There's an endless list but, I think, everything can be achieve by passion, dedication and, most of all, loving what you do.

  6. You always surprising us ma chérie! A great interview and also a great teacher
1.Because I love languages in the first instance and because the fact I can share it while making a difference in people's lives
2.The classroom is a posibility, for many things, as meeting people, forming that people, and building a knowledge by letting the people develop themselves by subjectivity and the recognize of their peers. Classroom is further 4 walls, a door and a board, classroom is a temple for those who use it as the way of generating ideas, knowlegde and people ablet to think
3.As many of my classmates already said, passion and love for what you do, and also having the necessity of going always further than no one ever been.

  7. Hellos Tatiana, first I have to say (write) I really liked your interview, you chose the right teacher, congrats!
    1. Because I love languages, I like teaching and I realized it is a need in society.
    2. Well, for me, it is a place to teach, but it is not only that, it is also a space full of knowledge, feelings and troubles to solve.
    3. It is necessary a lot of things, it is not enough to have a degree, if you want to be a good teacher, it should be good to involve your students in what's going on not only in the classroom, but in the context, in the place they live.
